Erin & Patrick

Softball, Terror, and Lemonade
After five wonderful years, the pair searched the globe for a suitable getaway, finally settling on a week in Costa Rica. While Erin thought it was simply a much deserved vacation, Patrick had other ideas on his mind. Under the guise of keeping costs down, they took two separate flights down; Erin leaving from Reagan flying first class on Patrick's miles, and Patrick flying Spirit out of BWI. Truth was, Patrick was terrified of letting the ring out of his sight and didn't want to blow his secret!
It took planes, trains, and automobiles but they finally arrived in Monteverde, Costa Rica. Here, they hiked through the cloud forest, attended a Spanish mass, drank delicious local coffee, and zip-lined through the mountains. After an amazing time embracing the culture of the town, it was time to head to the Caribbean coast and the small beach village of Cahuita.
Here they found paradise - 25 miles of untouched coastline, sparkling blue waters, and a rain forest teaming with wildlife. One day, as they settled into a private little beach alcove, Patrick asked Erin to join him in the shallows. He began stumbling through a semi-rehearsed speech when, with his heartbeat thumping out of his chest and Erin now thoroughly concerned he might collapse right then and there, he dropped to one knee. After an "Are you sure?!? Yes!", the rest is history.
It all started one night at the Urban Saloon in Center City, Philadelphia. Basking in the glow of another Specific Jawns slow pitch softball victory, Patrick found himself engaging in nervous conversation with the cute second baseman named Erin. Soon enough they realized that they lived only blocks away from each other and were both transplants from out of town - Erin being from New Hampshire and Patrick from Virginia. As their conversation continued, Erin began to take note of Patrick's slightly oblivious nature and finally decided to ask him for his phone number.
A quick week later, Patrick texted Erin asking her to accompany him on a visit to Eastern State Penitentiary - a most peculiar first date setting (it was Halloween, after all!). After a few lemonade vodka's, pizza, and enough flickering lights and zombies to last a lifetime, the two were an instant pair who went on to tackle the City of Brotherly Love while continuing to contribute to the Jawns' softball dynasty. Several softball seasons, injuries, and good times later, the pair moved to Northern Virginia to continue playing softball, socializing with friends and family, and taking care of their new puppy, Cooper.
